Don McMurry grew up in Jefferson City , Missouri , where he played high school football under the legendary John V. “Pete” Adkins, the second winningest coach in the nation. He earned All-State honors his senior year then went to Wake Forest University where he played with Brian Piccolo, John Mackovic, Bob Grant and Jimmy Clack. McMurry has ministered as a pastor and associational missionary for thirty-seven years in Ohio and Missouri . He is the father of three, grandfather of eight and lives with his wife of forty years, Norma, in Fairborn , Ohio .
